Parents & Families
Is your child struggling?
Sometimes you know your child needs some extra support, but it can be difficult to know exactly what that support should look like.
Your child may be experiencing anxiety, overwhelm, difficulties with emotional regulation, confidence, friendships, communication, school or simply finding everyday life harder than it should feel.
Future Foundations offers individual one to one support built around your child rather than expecting your child to fit into a programme.
Not sure what support you need? Let's have a conversation.
Book a free 20 minute consultation with Laura to talk through what is happening, what support you are looking for and whether Future Foundations could be the right fit.
No obligation. Just an opportunity to talk.
Book Your Free 20 Minute ConsultationHow I work
The relationship always comes first.
I take time to build trust and help a child feel safe, understood and comfortable with me before expecting them to engage in particular activities or work towards outcomes.
Support might focus on:
- Emotional regulation
- Anxiety and overwhelm
- Confidence and self esteem
- Communication
- Social relationships and friendships
- School engagement
- Independence and life skills
- Understanding emotions
- Change and transitions
This is not a fixed programme or an exhaustive list. Support can be guided by what you feel is important, outcomes within an EHCP where appropriate, and my own observations as I build a relationship with your child.
You can read more about my background and approach on the About Laura page.
What can sessions look like?
Mentoring does not necessarily mean sitting at a table and talking. Depending on the individual child, sessions might involve:
The activity is often the vehicle for building the relationship and naturally developing skills. What matters is not the activity itself, but how safe, understood and confident your child feels while doing it.
Working with parents and schools
You can contact me directly.
You do not need a referral from a school. Parents are very welcome to get in touch themselves, and I am happy to work around the areas you feel your child needs support with.
Working alongside school, where you want it.
Where you would like this and the school is willing to engage, I can also work alongside your child's school. I believe a joined up approach can be valuable, because strategies, observations and progress can be shared appropriately between the adults supporting your child.
My fees are straightforward and published openly — you can see them on the Fees & Pricing page.
You don't need to have all the answers before getting in touch. Sometimes the first step is simply having a conversation about what is happening, what you've already tried and what you feel your child may need.
